Becca Schultz
Becca Schultz is a pianist, composer, DJ, and entrepreneur based in Portland, Oregon. She founded Vesper School of Music in 2013.
Originally from the Chicago area, Becca moved to Portland in 2007 to dive deep into the local music culture and earn her Bachelors of Music degree in Jazz Piano Performance summa cum laude from Portland State University. She has played with a number of Portland bands over her career including New Move and Jared Mees and the Grown Children. For several years Becca toured internationally with choral folk-rock band Ages and Ages, with a highlight being a Tiny Desk Concert in 2014. As a collaborative artist, Becca has worked with vocalists, dancers, instrumentalists, musical theater, and multimedia productions across the Pacific Northwest. Since 2013 she has been an active performing artist with the non-profit Piano. Push. Play. In December 2013 Becca released Terrain, her debut solo record of original piano compositions. Her piano and keyboard playing has been featured on a number of studio recordings accompanying other artists as well. Becca's second album Prisma was released August 2019. In contrast to Terrain, Prisma is spacious, cinematic, synth-focused & experimental. Rich textures and melodies co-exist with ambient noise in an immersive sound experience that speaks deeply of personal emotional reflections. Prisma was released alongside a book of piano sheet music which is available to purchase here. In addition to piano performances, Becca currently performs as DJ bexx around Portland and beyond, spinning organic house and tech house music for crowds who love to dance. |
